The EFC, Eutectic Freeze Crystallization, is one of the most advanced separation technologies for the chemical process industry By reducing the solution temperature to the eutectic temperatures the salt can be crystallized from the water This technique makes it possible to obtain the zero liquid discharge (ZLD) and salt recovery from the waste water at very low energy consumptions The EFC process has advantage that other separation technologies cannot replace
Advantage:

  1. Low energy consumptions. Water freezing needs only 1/7 as much energy as boiling. The EFC requires electricity only.

  2. Reliable system. Low temperature operations with limited corrosions, and no safety issues.

  3. No fouling on heat transfer surfaces and no need for frequent cleaning.

  4. Low noise. The proven industrial refrigeration systems. No vapor compressing noise.

  5. No material denaturation or volatilization by heating. The solution will not change its composition in the process of crystallization at low temperature.

  6. Limited floor space. No need the constructions and building investment.

  7. Purified products can be obtained by EFC.
